Hi, hey, hello, whats good!, I am speaking to you through my first blog post in hopes to meet new people, share ideas, share experiences, learn, teach, inspire, love, give, and create positive vibes through you.
A Little About Me
My name is Joshua Schlegel. I am currently 24 years old. I was born, raised, and am currently living in Lubbock, Tx.
I love to read, write, watch certain tv shows, almost all movies, playing basketball, video games, board games, card games, learning, making money, spending money, and spending time with friends and loved ones.
I have spent the last 6 years of my life in direct customer service before I finally decided to take this life by the horns and chart a course of my own once I stumbled upon my passion. I graduated at an Alternative High School and went on to some college for about 2 years before I decided that I just did not feel any passion for the paths available with a college degree.
Although a college degree is a most respected and a worthy path to pursue, it is not for everyone. I just didn’t want to become an architect bad enough. I didn’t want to become a radiologist bad enough, but I did become interested in taking a Philosophy and Ufology class out of curiosity. Yeah, theres actually a Ufology class. I know, me too. I never did get to take those classes.
It did not change my decision to hunt down any dreams of happiness and success that I am capable of conceiving.
The bottom line is that I am a young, highly driven, and passionate person when it comes to meeting my goals and realizing my ideal life like many others.
I have faith and trust in my abilities to summon the motivation to decide to learn anything that is required to complete the task at hand whether I need to research information, learn from tutorials while taking notes, and applying the knowledge through practice, or reach out and ask an expert in the field.
Isn’t being human awesome?
I trust in my abilities to change my thinking habits if I find that they are negatively hurting my perception of life by being aware of my reactions to my environment. I trust in the many examples of ones who paved their own paths no matter the education, age, physical limitations, and mountains of doubt that entrapped them from escaping the clinches from the judgement of failure.
Nobody who decided to quit ever made the escape. Those who decided to keep moving towards their decision to trust in what they believe in are on the other side now.
Many of these examples didn’t spend a minute in college. Many of these examples started right here, right now, right where we are.
And here, We Chase Success.
Outside of my work and social life, I would be reading, researching, and learning from experts on what is important when it comes to achieving success. One of my personal favorite YouTube channels full of knowledge and inspiration was created by Evan Carmichael.
He creates multiple videos on some of the most influential masters of success, as well as tutorials on helping your business thrive. He uploads videos of philosophers, actors, authors, music artists, sports figures, directors, entrepreneurs, successful investors, speakers, leaders, and you name what else. He even takes on requests if you cannot locate the specific person who has inspired you to chase success.
Feel free to click here to check out his channel for knowledge and wisdom.
“Success, in life, is most easily measured by the number of days you are truly happy.”
What is your idea of success?

I strongly believe that seeing goals on paper is very helpful. From there you get to ask questions that lead you to discovering what the end result feels like, looks like, smells like, and even tastes like which only raises the levels of inspiration from with in.
I share with you below a list of some of my personal goals at this moment in time:
*Inspire and Positively Impact as Many People as Possible
*A Six Figure Income
It is the love of money that one can get lost in. Not money itself, but greed is what turns people against each other. Thou reapeth what thou soweth. You get what you give.
*A Beautiful Three Bedroom Home with a Balcony
*Be a Great Husband and Father
*Take The Whole Family On Vacation
*Pay Off All Of My Debts
*Provide For My Son’s Future
*Write a Fictional Novel
*Make More Quality Friends and Build More Long Term Friendships
*Multiple Sources of Passive Income
*Learn About Financial Investments
*See the World
And many more….
Some specific goals, some broad goals. The important thing is, is that the seeds have been planted. Now they must be watered and cared for one at a time. Underneath all of these goals are states of being.
Happiness, healthy, wealthy, financially free, and many more that we would all love to have, but states of being are not something you have, they are something you are.
“Become now what you are to become later.”
“He who has conquered doubt and fear has conquered failure. His every thought is allied with power, and all difficulties are bravely met and wisely overcome. His purposes are seasonably planted, and they bloom and bring forth fruit which does not fall prematurely to the ground. Thought allied fearlessly to purpose becomes creative force: he who knows this is ready to become something higher and stronger than a mere bundle of wavering thoughts and fluctuating sensations; he who does this has become the conscious and intelligent wielder of his mental powers.”
– James Allen from “As A Man Thinketh”
“As A Man Thinketh” by James Allen found me in the year of 2013 or so. I was teaching and learning Tae Kwon Do at Sang Kim’s Tae Kwon Do Institute at the time. I would be there from 7am to 7-8pm Monday through Friday and getting paid $100 a week while still paying my $75 a month for lessons.
Mr. Sang Kim (may he rest in peace), would have me open, clean, teach, learn, clean, and close. One day I was in the middle of mopping his big new office and thought to myself, “why don’t I see what Master Kim reads up on.”
I came across a book that would start to change my outlook on life all together and research even further on the words, “As he thinks, so he is; as he continues to think, so he remains”.
I am forever grateful for that moment in life for I believe it played a big part in me sitting right here in this chair and would recommend it to anybody.

I mentioned earlier that I love to write. One of the things I love to write is poetry. It seems to flow out of me once I get started.
I wrote this Poem for you:
I Am Who I Am
I am who I am
Another average person
One who once had dreams of popping out of the red opening curtain
Or even chasing down the bad guys whose out here doing all the hurtin
I am who I am
Grew up sitting in a pew
I remember sneaking off to run around outside and play tag with someone like you
I am who I am
A 5’5” human dude
With ambitions and aspirations that rise with the Sun and set with the Moon
I am who I am
I think life is so funny
Knowing where we’re all going in the end
But still running circles around money
I am who I am
I love what I do
Being alive to give, inspire, and discover truth
In treating you as I treat me, in hopes that you’ll treat me as you treat you
I am who I am
“Who are you?” “What are your interests, your hobbies, your goals, your fears, your dreams, your successes, your failures, your experiences, your lessons, your strengths, your weaknesses, your values, your beliefs, your purposes, your desires, your opinions, and your preferences?” “Who are you without all of these things?”
“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.”
I welcome any and all comments and discussions!
I appreciate you guys for taking the time that you did to read my first blog post of many to come and getting to know me a bit better!
Before I get up from this chair, I want to challenge each and every one of you as I have challenged myself.
I challenge you to write down your goals. I challenge you to believe in them like you believe the sky is blue. I challenge you to have faith in yourself.
I challenge you to first, decide if that is what you really want. From there I challenge you to take that first step towards what it is you have set your gaze upon and never look back no matter who or what anybody says or thinks.
I challenge you to Chase Success.
I challenge you to share your thoughts and welcome any feedback and support. 🙂
Ask yourselves, “What would accomplishing/having this feel like? Look like? Smell like? Who is with me? Why do I want this? What are my intentions for obtaining this? How am I enjoying the process of accomplishing this goal? How does accomplishing this goal help and serve others? Where am I in one of the many moments that shall come to pass after accomplishing this goal? Am I here, somewhere else, another country perhaps? When is this happening? Ten years from now? Next year? What are you willing to do to meet this objective? What is it’s purpose?”
The answers will reveal much of who you are, and what it will take to accomplish what you are setting out to accomplish. You may decide to change your goals, or even to abandon some goals. Just remember that it’s not always about the ending, but more about the story itself.
Never the less, the seed must be planted and cared for.
“Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.”
“Lets Not Just Chase It, Lets Capture It Forever.”
You have been challenged.
